CHELSEA'S MOURINHO: ARSENAL'S WENGER A “SPECIALIST IN FAILURE”

LONDON -- After maintaining he was the "Happy One" during his Chelsea return, Jose Mourinho's combative side is back on display.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger called Mourinho's repeated attempts to downplay Chelsea's Premier League title prospects a "fear to fail." At a news conference later Friday, Mourinho snapped back: "He is a specialist in failure. I'm not."

Wenger, who has been in charge at Arsenal since 1996, has not won a trophy since the 2005 FA Cup.

Mourinho called himself the "Special One" at the start of his first spell with Chelsea, which ran from 2004-07, and he led the Blues to their first two English league titles since 1955. Before returning to the west London club last June, Mourinho won the Champions League with Inter Milan and the Spanish league with Real Madrid.

"If supposedly (Wenger) is right and I'm afraid to fail, it's because I haven't failed many times," Mourinho said. "Maybe he's right. Maybe I'm not used to failing. The reality is he is a specialist.

"Eight years without a piece of silverware, that's failure ... if I don't win a trophy in four years, I don't want a new contract, even if the club wants to give me (one). It's as simple as that."

Chelsea leads the Premier League with 12 matches remaining, one point ahead of Arsenal.

"If we don't win a title in one year, is that a failure? Or if we don't win a title in two years, is that a failure?" Mourinho said. "I have lots of respect for (Wenger) and I thin'k he is a great manager. But when he speaks about failure ... failure is not winning a title in seven or eight years."

Sure he's a good tactician, coach or whatever he wants to call himself, but has he ever tried rebuilding a team? He takes over teams that are already expected to win things like Chelsea, Madrid, and Inter. In some ways he did fail at Madrid as well in terms that the fans didn't like him, and he was brought there to win the champions league which he didn't do. Guys annoying to be honest and boring. Nobody really buys his Chelsea can't win this or that comments anyways.

Mission, the guy wins.....you can't say he took GREAT Porto sides to win the UEFA Cup and Champions League in successive years? He is a master tactician and has proven it for a long time. Thank God he's back in the EPL otherwise we would have to listen to rest of the fuds who are boring as fcuk. Well in, Jose.

I never said he wasn't a good coach, read the first line. Also that Porto team wasn't exactly lacking in quality either, not that it wasn't a great achievement cause it was but just look at how many players from that squad went onto better clubs after and repeated their success. Either or i wasn't trying to say he isn't a good coach no matter how it came out I just don't like him or find him funny, imo he just embarrasses himself like this past weekend.

Now I know why United are doing so poorly. Moyes isn't managing United as the players seem to have given up on him and Pelegrini thinks he is managing United.

Pellegrini said: "I love pressure so to manage a big team as Manchester United and to have options in all the competitions is very good, is very beautiful for all of us,"

Nevermind the No5, he needs to figure out his No10!

:wa:

Thank You. I am sick of hearing how well Rooney has played this year. He hustles and plays a great long pass, like say a deep lying midfielder but he sure as shite isn't the guy spotting a pass and opening up a game. He's English for fcuk sakes, there is a reason why the top #10's in there world aren't English. Nobody is ever going to accuse them of being technically gifted or having flare. For me the system needs to be changed or Rooney and Van Persie need to just be competing for that high roll. Moyes refuses to accept this is what needs to be done because these are two huge names above his pay grade that won't take kindly to being on the bench. Seeing Kagawa stapled to that bench makes me more angry by the minute.

I have a weird feeling that gerrard might be picking up his first premier league winners medal this season based on their current form.

To deflect the heat for how crap David Moyes, Man United and their poor transfer dealing have been lately, I thought I'd post a snippet of how Arsene Wenger signs his player...told by former Gooner Ray Parlour...
