QPR 1-0 Chelsea, am I in the right thread or should I have put this under the "Things that make you say WTF"

Massive result for QPR! Makes me feel slightly better after losing to The Toffees just now  It goes to show what kind of state NUFC are in when we bring on Nile Ranger looking for a late equalizer:rolleyes:

Can't believe I'm thanking Liverpool for winning, but their result over Sunderland at least keeps them close to us in the league table. Our campaign is looking more and more like a fight to avoid relegation, right on:(

No kidding Dezza, I think chub thinks he is way smarter than he really is. Harry must have thought he got a late Christmas gift when he looked @ that lineup.

PS would Torres actually even start for one of the other top EPL clubs?

Slightly off topic but in the same vein ........

Kevin Prince Boateng (AC Milan) walks off the pitch today after getting racially abused by a section of supporters ..... in a friendly. Good on him.

Good on him is right. I know it takes stones to walk off the pitch at any level, but this sort of stuff won't be stamped out until the culture changes. People that forked out good money to see that match are no doubt furious, and that will lead to the club issuing refunds probably, and then barring those racists from ever getting in their ground again.

I doubt he would have done it in a Champions League game though...

was nice to see the home fans giving the gears to the section of idiots. Knowing UEFA they will discipline AC Milan and do nothing about the Abuse.

I don't know what can be done short of doing close up video on all spectators and then banning them at all events, putting their faces on Post Office "Most Racists" boards, etc.

FIFA says, "we need to stamp out racism". Why not stamp out religion while you are at it? Neither of these are going to happen as they are so deeply routed in a person. A racist is not going to stop thinking and being a racist because of a "program" to stop it. If the penalties are severe enough, they will probably resist the urge to act on their racism, but they will not stop their belief system. Period.

Not to open a can of worms, what does religion have to do with racism? Sure, some racists and bigots will say they feel as they do because of their "religion" but can anyone truly point me in the direction of a religion where it's okay to hurl abuse at someone at a sporting event because they happen to be black? or Catholic? or <insert fringe whacko cause celebre here>?...

Baby with the Bathwater?...

a racist will stop perpetrating racist acts at football grounds if he knows he will be caught and be barred from attending again, or he won't...They don't come to the football to be knuckle draggers, they are knuckle draggers that come to football. Generally speaking imho.

I don't believe it is up to Fifa or any soccer club to change people beliefs or attitudes but it should be their job to say vocalizing or demonstating certain behavior is not permitted. To say it is difficult to stop is ridicules. If you fine clubs a substantial amount and continue to increase fines if it does not stop you would be amazed at how easy it is to address the problem. Have stadium staff in the problem sections increase in numbers and have them escort fans out with bans from returning to future matches. The real problem is it still is not seen as a problem in most European countries so they do little to stop it. Try starting a racist chant at a Canucks game and see how long you would last.

Not very long, they don't even play in these parts no more.

Frustrated seeing Ba leave the club, but he is ambitious and couldn't turn down a move to Chelski I suppose. On the bright side, we've secured an established international right back, surely he will be our savior! I hope this is only the beginning of the signings and that Mike Ashley will loosen the purse strings and let Pardew strengthen a severely thin squad.

In other news, Joe Cole to West Ham. I'd say it's a good move for him after a couple terrible career decisions going to Chelski and 'pool.

I think the Mathieu Debuchy signing from Lille is excellent! A little guy who is quick and gets forward. Another excellent signing from France to go along with Cabaye and Ben Arfa.

Only thing is, all of our Frenchman are currently injured, how long until he goes down I wonder. Pardew has brought him in as a direct replacement for Danny Simpson, who will be leaving come the summer by all accounts. We still need 2 more signings at the very least.

Debuchy is ok, but hardly an "established international". The only reason he played in the euros was because Sagna was injured. Hopefully for you guys though he follows Cabaye, and Hazard's move from lille and not Gervinho...

City hasn't won in the league away to Arsenal since October '75
The last player to score was DaMarcus Beasley in the 06/07 season.

MB10 seems as though the force is with you

This may possibly be City's day....Arsenal with a straight red in the first red. City missed a pk. Let's see what happens!
