All this thread wants are predictions and those were mine. So, I don't think I was doing anything wrong. Obviously I would have had a few different picks if the spread was involved, but this is not sports action now is it JACKASS:D :D

That was a suggestion, but my picks were the predictions of who was going to win. So, take it the way you want.

Jets to cover, Rams not to cover.

Those are locks and will get you money. I think Saints will beat the Rams in St.Louis just like last year and if not it will be withing 12 points for sure. And the Jets should trounce Carolina.

Other ones I like are the Jags, Seahawks and Bengles but I wouldn't say they were locks.

The Steelers looked great against the Ravens tonite.

Steelers clinch AFC title and have the best record in the league at 11-2.

Ray Lewis played well for the Ravens.

Da Bears also are in the playoffs!!

Cleveland vs Jags riot

From Cleveland AP:
Standing near midfield, players and officials watched as enraged Browns fans rained beer bottles, cups and debris down on them.

more;

Cleveland fans threw thousands of bottles on the field Sunday, striking the Jaguars and Browns and forcing them to run for cover after officials overturned a last-minute call that helped Jacksonville win 15-10.

in the pound;

What was even stupider was the NFL commissioner's decision to resume play with some 40 seconds remaining AFTER the refs had left the field under the hail of glass beer bottles.

Given that the pass was ruled incomplete and the ball was turned over to the visiting team to simply run the clock out with about 48 seconds (?) to go, what was the league thinking about.
It certainly wasn't the safety of the referees as they already had tons of bottles and crap throw on them when they first abandoned the game.

(I thought they ended glass beer bottles in NFL stadiums back in the late 50's or early 60s when John Brodie the San Francisco QB used to get bottles thrown at him by his own fans in Kezar Stadium when he left the field after a losing game.) I am either a lot older or do I know NFL trivia!!

Not Glass

The beer bottles were plastic, as the new rules for stadiums will not allow glass to be sold. That game should be protested by the Browns and either replayed or considered a tie. That was one of the worst decisions that the NFL has made. Why did the commisioner not look at the film and talk to the two coachs before sending them back out there to run 48 seconds. I bet this isn't the last we hear of this:(

This was not the last we saw of this as bottles were once thrown again in the Monday night game. This time it was not called for as the call was just a defensive pass interference in the endzone.

13 individuals were arrested after the incident

SF win - Oak loss?

San Francisco look strong heading into the playoffs, beating two quality teams (Dolphins and Eagles) in the last two weeks. They've been my team for years cause of Jerry Rice, and they are still my team. Even though they have lost 3 games, 2 were to the Rams (who they will never beat) and one to the Bears in overtime. I believe they will cause some havic in the playoffs if they don't meet the Rams.
San Fran 13 - Phil 3

Oakland lately haven't impressed me what-so-ever. With an offence like that, they should be racking up more points then what they have been. Only there defence has been keeping them in it the last couple of weeks. Too many close games and results. Winning by a field goal is a win, but when you do it in the last minutes of the game doesn't say much. Raiders lost to the Titans today thanks to 3 field goal misses (one with 11 sec left) by Janokawski.
Tenn 13 - Oak 10

great games today

Some great games today with playoffs written all over them.
Bears and Packers both won today improving their records to 11-3 and 10-4 respectively. Favre lead the Packers in the snow with 3 TD's, while a fake field goal pass to defensive linebacker Brian Urlacher (one of the best in the game) sealed the deal for the Bears.
Ravens playoff hopes are still alive as Ray Lewis (the best in the game) had 11 tackles and 2 INT's to lead the 9-5 Ravens to a 16-0 victory.
Steelers dominated the hopeless Lions in a 41-14 win. Kordell Stewart is looking better than ever hooking up for 3 TD's and one rushing TD. Record 12-2 and clinch a first round bye.
The Bucs are finally looking like a playoff team, keeping their hopes alive with their biggest tally of the season, 48 points. Allstott was freakin' awesome, running over tacklers like nothing. One run, he beat 8 different defensive tacklers before being hauled down.
The Giants come from behind in the 4th to beat the Seahawks 27-24. Both teams have a record of 7-7 with not much chance of making the playoffs.
In the late game, the Jets also made a come from behind victory late in the 4th to win 29-28 against the Colts. The Jets now have a record of 9-5 with 2 games left.
The Patriots at 10-5, Dolphins at 9-5, Jets at 9-5, and Ravens at 9-5 should make an interesting last 2 weeks of football.
