Remember when you could pass the ball back to goalies and they could pick the ball up.

With the clock ticking down, and Dynamo pressing for an away goal, Souness took the sting out of the game in quite brazen fashion. The Rangers fans had already, in the commentator's words, celebrated a backpass "as if they had scored a goal" as their player-manager received the ball, midway into the Dynamo half with 30 seconds left:

I remember doing that often in youth from just inside our own half - I sometimes wonder if those types of plays help a player develop more awareness in a game...

I remember the Whitecaps using the back pass to the point of nearly causing fans to want to leave the stadium. It sure made for a boring game. Good riddance.
