Isn't anybody golfing out there? Heading to Victoria and Bear Mountain for the week-end, playing their two courses, anybody been there? From the web-site it looks pretty good, but what's with a course having 19 holes...(real 19 holes...not the 19th hole we all know and love!!!)???? What's the idea behind that, just to be different? Never seen or heard of any other course having it.

How about the Dunes in Kamloops? Hitting that up on Sunday, heard it's nice but not sure what to expect.

The 19th hole was put in place by Jack after he noticed the view that it has, it’s a short par 3 overlooking the city and ocean…. Awesome view!

It's not a bad track. It’s got that "desert" thing to it and almost every shank can have at least marginal recovery. And when I say almost I mean any ball not hit by me.

fast fairways - average greens

I give it a 3 of 5 mulligan’s

I love courses that my shanks won't cost me hundreds in lost balls. Sounds like the course for me :D

The Dunes was a beauty course, greens were in phenomenal shape. Though the rough was ROUGH. not fun being in there that's for sure. Picked up 25 mosquito bites on holes 17 and 18. Bring your Off.

Tower Ranch in Kelowna is worth checking out... and you can never go wrong with a round at Harvest. Easy off the tee and approach... but the greens are deadly.

I played Nanaimo GC last weekend. Nice track, lots of old trees (that block second shots very nicely) and some nice views. Greens were fast and hard, couldnt really hit and stick it. Fairways were great though.

Played in Washington last week... Raspberry Ridge for 9 holes then North Bellingham for 18 then finished up at Shuksan(SP). All great courses with Shuksan being the favorite as the course was unbelievable!

I'm not a big fan of target golf as i like to grip it and rip it but i played Furry Creek a few weeks ago. Course was in great shape and i loved it. Great views and some great holes

It was a about $90 i think with cart and they have the best rated Smokies of all the courses in BC! They have the newpaper article out on the counter to prove it.

This weekend was in Qualicum Beach, hit up Arrowsmith (which ended up being a par 65 executive) and Pheasants Glen. Both courses were immaculate, great greens with forgiving fairways for guys that spray it like myself. Weather was perfect, and can't wait for our next trip down there as I would definitely play them again.

Fairview Mountain was epic yesterday.

Greens were like glass while putting, but you could actually get them to hold your ball if your shot was high enough and biting enough.

A nice mix of risk/reward and unforgiving stuff if you miss fairways etc without being too punishing.

A gem at $75.00 plus tax.

re: Golf tracks BC & beyond

annual golf trip this year, Aug 13-18:

Talking Rock x 2
Tobiano x 2
Dunes x 2
Sun Rivers x 2
Ledgeview on the way home.

first time at Talking Rock and Tobiano. Heard nothing but good things so looking foward to it. Assuming of course the entire okanagan doesn't go up in flames before we get there.

point grey today with my new callaway x-20 irons.

My top five North American favourites ever:

Troon North (Scottsdale, Arizona)
Doral Blue (Miami, Florida)
Desert Dunes (Desert Hot Springs, California)
Salmon Arm (Salmon Arm, BC)
Raven Golf Club (Sandestin, Florida)

Sir M.

Tobiano is awfully good though, it would be top five if the lake wasn't polluted...
