Dude, when is my league going to win a Cup.

Dude, that is a very bold statement to make since a valley team hasn't made it to the semi's and past only a few times in the last 10 years.

With a very good draw anything is possible however.

Your stance on the valley becoming the new hotbed of talented young soccer stars has some merrit due to the fact that many families are moving into the valley for affordable housing.

However the families that can afford housing in the Vancouver area will still live close to the city.
And because they can afford housing in the city they can afford the best coaching that money can buy.

Does anyone have any stats on who has been winning the B.C.'s for youth soccer in the last few years?

I think that Vancouver area teams still reign in the youth area.

So the valley may do well in the B.C.'s this year if WW3 begins and again the farmers are left to play soccer while we go off and fight.

Farmer's Cup

Man, I have to do a double take every time I come across those tits...it's a good thing there's no porn link, or I'd be here all day, towel in hand:eek:

TR: No, Langley doesn't have a Premier team...at least, I don't think so. For that matter, neither does SYSA really. I make the statement because the SYSA team was made mainly of young players called up from the various youth & club teams- like ours. Basically, it operated without a coach last season, and without direction. The only real goal was to avoid relegation for the season. The positive is that this year, Frank is taking over coaching the squad full time and will give solid direction to a lot of the talented youth. Also, the Storm is doing a good job of improving / developing their team- most of those guys are early to mid 20s. In a nutshell, the club is positioned well so that when the Rangers eventually do go to over 30s, the teams will be stable / improving and continuing to develop youth. I'm not as familiar with Langley, but I do know they've built a strong club, quickly, and they have some very solid young guns.

HOS: The population growth in the Valley has got to be exponentially greater than the Metro Vancouver area. I don't have exact statistics to back me up, but I wouldn't at all be surprised if the growth in population is 5x greater than Bby / Vancouver. I do know our Club has developed some fairly talented youth who have moved on to the provincial / national scene, and the teams have had success. Again, I can't comment exactly, and I probably won't bother to look it up either.

BTW: who do you play for HOS?

That's it for now...I have some very important business to take care of.

CAT System for Me Too

Good thing the CAT system has been set up or I would never get any waterboy game action.

Keepers?

Well, I might as well post this one more time. Golden Ears United soccer club requires a couple of good keepers for the winter season. If anyone is interested, send me a PM, or e-mail me here.

We are getting desperate!

Pathetic showing from the valley

Only one FVSL-based TTPer entered in the TTP Hockey Pool. You clowns are pathetic... Can't beat the VMSL during provincials and now won't even take the challenge of the TTP Hockey Pool.

If I made a women's Olympic figure-skating pool, do you think any of you purse-swinging tarts might put down your knitting needles long enough to get stuck in?

Pool

Tried "setting up an account". Easier said than done. I couldn't find the right page on the website to do that. You couldn't make it any more difficult, could you?

Did you poke yourself in the eye with your knitting needles?!?!

Plenty of VMSL TTPers seemed to figure it out :D

Did you read the TTP Hockey Pool page here?

I think the instructions are pretty straight-forward.

For more specific instructions (if you need them), head on over to the TTP Pools & Contests forum and maybe TR can help explain the instructions to you in farmerese.

No emphatic no.

Prediction in your poll: an emphatic No!

Well the poll has finally closed. The no's win, but emphatically, I think not. Give it time Regs. The valley will soon dominate the BC soccer landscape.

Re: What has the FVSL ever won

I don't think a valley team has ever won a cup, except mabey during WW1 or WW2 when all the Vancouver lads were off fighting, and just the farmers were left playing...

That is still one of the funniest posts on TTP :D

Funny, but consider the source.

Funny post, but factually, and historically incorrect.

Most of the people who fought in the World Wars were farmers. The farmers were tough as nails, and the "City folk" were considered soft.

I beleive that fact still holds true today.;)
