Beater, You must be the most confusing young lad I know. At no point did I say Del Piero is the #1 Italian, that spot is always reserved for the almight pony-tailed one.

I'd suggest Carlos, of course, and Zola as well. I've seen him take a few sitters that'd knock your socks off. Figo, on the other hand ain't so bad himself (but not top 3, I suppose).

As for a keeper, if he's anything like last year, Toldo would have to be serious contender. Granted, I haven't seen him since then -- I'd only assume he's still as good as he was. (Which is more than I can say for Barthez) In addition, you could also make serious arguements on behalf of the caveman lawyer, Oliver Kahn, and (if you wanted some youth) Madrid's Iker Casillas.

. . . and Totti . . . isn't he that guy who wears shoe-laces on his head? :D

Bartez?????

Don't Count Bartez out yet lads. If any of you remember Schmiecle(sp) went through the same thing the year that Man U won the treble. Everyone said he was done, but he was Just drained. He took a 2 week vacation, came back and the rest is history. In 3 months he was the best goalie around again.

I forgot to mention . . .

Left Back: Bixente Lizarazu.

Without question his speed, determination, and stability are top notch in Europe and world-wide. Very few, if any are simultaneous holders of the World Cup, European Cup, Champions League, and now the World Cup Championship (Toyota Cup).

My picks too......

CD,

That was my line-up too. I might have added Roy Keane in for Prosinecki but other than that, very similar choices.....

Guys, france would win the world cup with ref beater in goal Bartez is horrible.

GK- Toldo

Def- Maldini, Nesta, Canavaro

Mid- Zanetti (inter) Veron, Beckham, Nedved, Totti

For- Baggio, Vieri

Baggio is still one of the top players in the world to be near the top of serie a goal scoring playing for Brescia, all the other countries wish they could have an asset like that for WC 2002

Itaian football is hands down the best in the world!!!!!!

Zenga, if you had half a brain it'd be lonely. Why don't you get off your computer and go back to beating off to your pictures of Roberto Faggio.

A Dream Team

Schmeical

Maldini Sol Campbell Frank DeBoer

Beckham Totti Figo Kewell

Zidane

Owen Rivaldo

Subs: Nedved, Raul, Giggs, Henry, Carlos

This would be a Dream Team in my mind considering the amount of skill and exciting players on it. Sentimental Fav. in goal (can't knock his experience), Campbell is better that most think, midfield stacked with ability and strikers could be toughest to name as starters (lots of quality there)...

keeper you think lizarazu is better than Candela.

I would rate the roma defender over the BM defender what do you think?

Dont see much of BM in the Bundesliga but watch alot of the serie A?

My opinion oh well?

Keeps, Even picking Larsson as a forward is questionable. Overmars is having problems cracking Barca's starting 11 and I don't think he deserves a nod.
