Apparently this guys is actually a Vietnam veteran (Marine), and was confronted while riding the bus. He explains in another interview that he was speaking with a friend on the bus about getting his shoes spit shined, when the other man made a comment as he walked by. There appears to be a miscommunication as the other man thinks he is making racist remarks, which it is hard to tell whether he actually was or wasn't. After watching a bunch of interviews the black man admits to being drunk and apologizes to all veterans while Vietnam Tom is clealry a bit nuts.
