Mission 3-2 Dynamo

First half we dominated, scoring quite early. They tied it up right away on a badly cleared corner I think, and the ball ended up in a scramble that their guy couldn’t miss. We added another after many chances that we didn’t take. They then got gifted one as our keeper dropped an easy cross to their striker to tap into an empty net, oh well 2-2. Then still we were carrying the play, and managed to get one on a bad turn over from their keeper and the shot took a massive deflection giving the keeper no chance right before half time.

2nd half we should have scored early on but didn’t, and after that it was one way traffic coming at us. We managed to hang on though for the 3 points.

Dynamo are a good set of guys, good luck for the rest of the season.

Very accurate game report. They came out flying and it took us a while to adjust to their speed. They gave us a gift then we handed one back. We were buzzing around in the second half but no real grade 'A' chances. Tough dropping points.

First game back from the break. We came out flying for the first 20 minutes. We got a goal 15 mins in off a perfectly placed header off a corner kick. We then got away from our game, and PMO got into the game and started getting minor chances. At the 35 min mark they got a goal off a bouncing ball in the box. 1-1 at half, second half even play both way for the first 30 definatly not our best soccer, both goalies made big saves in this game. 15 to go they get a pk on a suspect call/dive. They scored well placed shot 2-1, with 7 to go another penalty shot on another suspect call/dive on the perimeter of the box. Second pk handed out, same guy steps up makes no mistake again. 3-1. We all of a sudden found our game again, we got a goal with 4 mins left on a nice half volley to right corner, there goalie got his fingers on it, but it wasn’t enough. Then in the last minute of stoppage we got a corner kick, went a bit long. Our winger brought it down on the far end, crossed it in and another great header top corner, tie game. Game ended 3-3 PMO obviously stunned and unhappy. Feels good to gut out a point in the final minutes! We need to play a full game not half against mission if we are going to beat them next week.

Kris is being kind, those were two of the worst penalty decisions I've seen in a very long time. I think it's unfair to call them dives as PMO was not looking for either call, they were more so just atrocious decisions by the official. The second of which wasn't even inside the box, was never a foul and the ref makes the call standing on the halfway line. It's frustrating because PMO had zero business being in the game. The only silver lining being that we were able to battle back from the frustration. It still feels like two points lost rather than one point gained...

Yes I think we got robbed but our goalie also robbed them after that. Good physical game that never got dirty. Knights are super good guys and in all honesty the tie is probably a fair result. It’s always good when you can have some beers with the other team after. Hopefully our play today can translate into some points down the road but it will be hard against the teams in this pool.

They controlled first 20, they move ball well and have a quick frontline. I can see why they do get lots of goals, they come hard and fast. Half way through, a little confusion by us on marking, ball squirts to a wide open centre mid and he slots it to make it 1-0. We get one against the few of play, a bad back pass and they underestimate our fastest player, he picks it off and has an easy goal. The tide does turn then as they lost their shape and we pressed getting a nice hit from about 12 yards out off a scramble. We get the best OG ever, off a free kick from the sidelines, their defender bends down and pops it backwards with crazy spin and it top spins over the goalie. We will take it, after a backbreaker OG last week on us. 3-1 at half.

Second half they come storming, get one about 15 in as our centre back (not me if wondering..) whiffs on a clearance and they get a breakaway and goal. They keep storming and press hard but we get an awesome end to end run and make it 4-2. We then slowed down and booted a lot of balls out of bounds (my speciality) and limited their chances.

Too bad that the schedule is uneven, I'm sure they would want other crack at us as we would another chance at Mission but that is the way it is.

Red Devils 3 - 2 Chilliwack

We deserved the win but definitely by a larger margin. Their goalie made some fantastic saves!

Chilliwack started the game with 9 players, which should have been to our advantage but unfortunately we decided to shite the bed for the first 20mins and didn’t capitalize on clear chances. Once they had a full squad, we started to click and started passing the ball around well. Went up 1-0. Not too soon after, they started to click too and our backline broke down and they walked through. After that we got rolling and should have had 4 or 5 goals but most times we put it over the bar or wide.
Went up 2-1 off a lovely run from our winger into the box and popped it over the keeper as he was going down for the save. Chilliwack ties it up off a free kick that bypassed everyone in the box other than the lucky guy to get a head on it. Red Devils go up 3-2 off a corner and a header from our golden boot contender, and go on to close the game out the game.

Overall a good game. We didn’t play well and need to do better, but 3 points are 3 points.
Onto Aldergrove next week for a very important match to stay in the mix at the top of the table.

Great clean game, we came out flat in the first 10 with mission having a few dangerous crosses. They were not able to do anything with them though. I felt like the next 35 of the half we controlled and got two goals. One off a header from the corner kick. The second a few minutes later off a through ball and nice finish top left corner. Felt like we left a couple out there in the first, mission also had a couple more chances they were not able to capitalize on. Second half started we came out flat again, mission pressing, with some dangerous fast breaks and long balls over top. With about 18 left they got a cross in that hit our defeneder hand by his hip, Ref calls for a pk. Tough call for him either way, unfortunate for us. @4thplacetrophy I believe stepped up and finished it not problem. 2-1 with 15 to go, 5 mins later they get a corner kick that there tall guy with the dreads gets on and it bounces past our goalie/ defender to score 2-2. Right after that we made about 4 subs, and we tried pressing again, had a couple chances, same with mission on the fast counter. All in all a good game, again felt like we let the game go, we have to put in a full 90 to win, especially against a team like mission with some really skilled players throughout their team. Onto blue devils next week hopefully we can get a win in this new year.

I would agree with that. 35 mins of the first half you had us stretched badly. Your player should have done better right before half when he had the chance to make it 3-0 with his left at the top of the box after a nice cut back.

Second half we adjusted to match you guys a bit and I thought it brought more success for us. Which showed in the result.

Yup it did, probably the best team we have played all season. Definatly fun playing a close game like that. Fair result since we let the game go, and kudos to you guys never giving up.

This is essentially the game report every time we play Mission. Tough guy to contain. He always manages to skin us for a goal or two. Even worse is the fact that he's such a nice guy you barely want to hack his ankles!
