Unfortunately eleven churches held indoor services yesterday, a day after B.C. reported 5 deaths from covid, plus the highest ever daily count of new covid cases, and the number of people in ICU increased from 80 to 90. If people do not follow rules then soccer will be impossible until 2022.

Frustrating to hear this. There are so many ways to do something outside. Get an open tent. Set up tables following guidelines set in restaurants. Hell, just put a bunch of chairs grouped in 6 and spaced out on a lawn, it was beautiful yesterday.

So Manitoba Soccer says, as long as you have no spectators you are good to play outdoors.

Some story lines to watch post covid return to the pitch... Colin Miller is back in the local scene and it looks like FC Tigers have shared that he’s going to be heavily involved with their program... while also being involved with Abbotsford as Abbotsfords TD for divisional and men’s sides? What happens to Alan now that he’s returned to TWU as Director of Philanthropy?

what new teams will burst onto the scene in vmsl and Fvsl’s premier divisions? What players will be moving clubs after our break from footy?

lots to talk about in the coming months I’m sure!

They are probably consulting with the FVSL before they release their proposed restart.....

With the announcement today that 12+ kids gonna get a shot potentially by the end of the school year, sports should be good to open up here in the fall I would think.

Canada West announced the University season will be a go, with travel limited to within the division.

Meanwhile starting this week Vancouver Park Board are arbitrarily limiting the current 3m distanced youth training from 50 players per field to 30, despite no change from ViaSport or the Provincial Health Authority.

League 1 - Ontario announced yesterday that they’ve “revised” their start date to now be July 2 due to ongoing covid-19 restrictions in their province.

Ontario, who it seemingly had the moon crashing into it over the last few weeks. With total lockdowns in place is now saying they have a start date for men’s and women’s adult soccer. Yet BC has no update? No guess of when we can be on the field to even just train? Seems a tad odd.

Does Ontario have anything like ViaSport we have here in BC? Perhaps that is the big disconnect we have - ViaSport doesn't have their shite together or can't get timely info from the NDP...
