I'm in for Celtic vs Chelsea July 24. That Chicago thing is too rich for my blood. Anyone know when exactly tickets go on sale and if they will be available to stupid Canadians?

From The Glasgow Herald,

Auld Firm Game To Be Played In America?

The organisers of Celtic's pre-season tour of North America have revealed their ultimate ambition of hosting an Old Firm game in the United States.

Rich Schneider, director of communications for ChampionsWorld, admitted that staging a match between two of the biggest rivals in world football on the other side of the Atlantic was an integral part of their plans to expand the already hugely popular football series.
Celtic's participation in the inaugural event last year generated huge interest in America and helped sell out the friendly match with Manchester United in the Seahawks Stadium, Seattle.

The Glasgow club will play Sir Alex Ferguson's side in America again this year, as well as Liverpool, Chelsea and AS Roma, but Schneider admitted that an Old Firm derby would generate huge interest in North America.
"It is one of the world's all-time great sporting rivalries and the chance to experience Rangers versus Celtic in the States would be a dream come true for us," he said. "The possibility certainly exists but there have been no advanced discussions about it. Having said that, we have not sat down to set out our future plans, but if you are asking me now if we would be interested in staging a game of that magnitude, then the answer is absolutely."

There would be no better time for the Old Firm to capitalise on their global branding. Both clubs have just launched their own independent satellite subscription television channels, produced by Setanta, and would be able to negotiate exclusive rights to broadcast the tie domestically and across the globe.
The match would probably be staged in Boston, Philadelphia, or New York, cities with large numbers of people with Scottish and Irish heritage and the core areas of long-distance Old Firm support.

Rangers have yet to be invited to join the ChampionsWorld series because, according to Schneider, they do not have an instantly recognisable branding throughout the US.

(A bigger club than Celtic eh?)

But, given that American sports fans enjoy intense rivalry, there would be a clamour for what Time magazine recently described as "the most hate-filled derby in world sport".
The sectarianism issue would be a potential stumbling block for the fixture, however. US police are unlikely to have experienced as poisonous an atmosphere in any of America's major sports such as American football, baseball or ice hockey.
"Even a novice supporter over here is aware of the history and passion between the two teams and it is not hard to imagine how huge the event would be," added Schneider.
ChampionsWorld last year hosted the Italian Super Cup between Juventus and AC Milan and also organised Rangers' pre-season tour of New York two years ago.

Typical of most organizations; the people at the top are so obviously ignorant.
