Canadian National Club Championship 2003
Location: Quebec City QC
Date October 9 --->13, 2003

National Seeding.
  1. Manitoba
  2. Newfoundland & Labrador
  3. Nova Scotia
  4. Alberta
  5. Prince Edward Island
  6. Quebec
  7. New Brunswick
  8. Ontario
  9. Saskatchewan
  10. British Columbia (Thanks Gorge  )
    [/list=1]

    Groups.

    A - #1 MB, #8 ONT, #9 SK
    B - #2 NL, #7 NB, #10 BC
    C - #3 NS, #6 QC
    D - #4 AB, #5 PE

Group C and D play all games to a decision and then cross over with each other for one game. Top team in each group goes to the Semi. Everyone is guaranteed 4 games. I think up to 2 years ago it was two sides of 5 teams top two on each go through wasn't it? I'm not sure what I like better.

Surrey play the Newf's Thursday and New Brunswick Friday then have Saturday off.

3. Nova Scotia

4. Alberta

5. Prince Edward Island

I'm guessing the seedings have never looked like this. No BC, Quebec, or Ontario in the top five. It actually sets up well for Slurrey. New Brunswick and Newfoundland doesn't sound like a terribly difficult draw.

I think the Newfs won it all the year before last and were in the finials last year. It's hard to get a scouting report, but from what some of the Victoria(PCSL)/Gorge guys have said the Newfs and Quebec are solid sides and obviously last years Manitoba. No word on New Brunswick.

It's a shitty setup, period.

If you are going to insist on this setup, groups C & D should be:

#1 & #10
#2 & #9

Seedings...

Are these based on ability or are they random? KNVB - Quebec, nice, try not to piss off the Theodore family as they have enough problems already. Good luck.

Bertrum,

They are based on how last year's championship finished. BC finished last in 2002, thus Slurrey's seeding for this year.

It's been a loooonnnngggg time since BC has had that #1 spot. Here's hoping that Peg has it in 2004 (there's a slag and compliment all in one statement :D)

Cheers,

~Regs.

Bertrum, they're based on last years results. Again, thank you to Gorge for losing every game after finishing 3rd or 4th the year before. I think there should be a random draw if a different club team could represent each province every year. Wrong or right? I dunno.

(edit) Slow fingers.

Slag - Slurrey has no chance in Hell in Winning the Canadain's, so no number 1 seed.

Slag - Peg has no chance in Hell in Winning the B.C.'s, so no National berth.

Regs, where is the compliment?, I keep waiting to hear Khalsa's name said.
