Today, Victoria squeaked by Vancouver. Vancouver had much of the play, but it was victoria who capitalized on their chances. The Explorers really cannot complain about the man in the middle, as many legit tackles seemed to be whistled down. In fact, Victoria players recieved 2 cards on tackles in which they won the ball first... go figure. Defender Nando Dunic seemed to be on the bad side of the ref, for his 6 fouls against him made one think that everytime he went for a ball, their would be a whistle.

Far side linesman was an absolute shocker - 4 seconds into the game, explorers clearly cleared it out off the endline only to have the linesman (wearing some sweet Bullit Velcro shoes no joke) call for a goal kick - referee overruled him, but it was surely a sign of things to come. Despite what REal Player says about the PCSL, it still is one of the top leagues around here, and it is a shame to have the refs who have to have the spotlight. Upon recieving his second (questionable) yellow card, Dunic went to his bench on the far side of the field - however, man in the middle (grabbing spotlight) would not begin the game until the player had in fact left the field - by way of climbing over the fence yet still standing 4 feet from the team bench. Game was delayed for all this, but i'm sure that with the 5 minutes to go, it was important for the ref to get as much attention as possible.

Vancouver was a strong team - not to take anything away from them. They looked dangerous throughout and had a number of good chances.

Khalsa and Victoria at 11:30 - should be a good final. Hopefully the attention will be on the players, not on the man in black

a season not over

An exciting final on sunday - could have gone either way - with both teams having chances. While Harry recieved man of the match, it could have been Randall as well.
However, while Khalsa did win a 4 team playoff at the end of the season, Victoria did win the league and beat Khalsa twice during the season. They also go to Mt.Vernon next week to compete for another trophy...
