Well the North Shore Coaches League finally realized that their league was close to an end. They have collaborated with the BMSA Master's division and now have a 14 team Masters league. Vikings are off to a great start in the league after winning their opener 8-2. Roma FC has lost some players to the higher calibre VMSL Masters and are going to try in compete in this new league. Four teams from NSCL moved over Vikings,Howe Sound, North Shore United and Roma FC. Top teams from the BMSA Master's from last year were Sierra, Europa, Burnaby Bulls. Going to be an interesting new year with this new league and competition. Hopefully one or two teams can make it into Sir M's rankings of Master's teams.

If Europa were one of the top teams, the Burnaby teams are going to have trouble. From what we saw during the summer, they would be a mid-pack VMSL Div 2 team at over 35, and that's still with using the nonsense Burnaby rule that says you can call yourself a "Masters" team even if your roster isn't made up completely of masters'-aged players.

Hopefully the Burnaby teams realize that they will need to be a fair bit stronger to compete with the North Van teams.

Dezza, yes as of now the league will get 2 Provincial spots. Trece Verde this is not the same Europa team that plays in the Summer. They are completely different asides from the same team name. Also all players must be 32 as of Dec of this year and only those 35 as of this year can play in the Provincials.

I believe it's actually BMSL (Burnaby Men's Soccer League), but me and the official website could be wrong

Yoda, yes you are correct, my apologies as I'm struggling just to get all my payers registered through this new league's crazy on line system. Sir M our team has never been one to be up to date on the new catchy logo's. :)

Big game this weekend as Roma FC takes on the undefeated Bari FC .

Bari FC knocks off Roma FC today 1-0 scoring in the last minute of the game. Roma couldn't finish, Bari FC mentioned that they have heard of Sir M's master rankings and that they are hoping and wanting to make a debut on them this year.

Roma gets back on the winning side of things with a 6-1 victory over basement dwellers Burnaby Strikers. Bari FC and Burnaby Bulls stay undefeated to lead the pack.

Congrats to Roma and Europa for securing 2 of the 4 provincial spots after finishing top two in league play. First place to be decided on the last game of league play which hopefully happens this weekend. Roma has a 1 point lead heading into the last game. The 2 other spots will go to to the Master's Cup finalists in March.
