Some comments:

What's up with the Trollups in Prem changing their name to Legion?

Pegasus Premier... who needs a CAT team in this league to do well consistently?

No Div 3 - a good move I think by the league but did anyone see that coming so soon to the start of the season?

No more Croatia SC U-21 Team

There will be no more Croatia SC U-21 team, due to the fact that we can't get out enough players out. Every one has a some dumb excuse:mad:

Peg - DCR

Rumour has it that the Deep Cove CAT team will actually be the Peg CAT team this year.

As for the Div 3 Div 2 merger ... Div 3 was always a joke, but the disparity between the top Div 2 teams and the low Div 3 teams is pretty large. Will make for some bad blowouts and a waste of a few weekends, but at least Div 2 gets more games...

Rainy season

Hopefully the season won't be as rainy as last year. Then again with fields like Kensington, it could be dry for 10 days and there would still be a lake in the middle of the pitch...

Peg / DCR

Ooops... should check other threads first. I think that's the day I heard it too (23rd). I'm hearing it second-hand though so who knows how much is actually the truth.

Good lobbying

Another point of interest is the fact that the 'Lomas were successful in attaining Connaught Park as their home.

Bravo.

Keeps

Whats also interesting is we paid the parks board a whole load of dosh to 'build' a new soccer pitch for us. So they just dumped tons of sand on it. And called it a soccer field. It won't be the best pitch in the division but at least it'll have decent changing rooms, showers and big old bar to sup in after the game. Fort Connaught is born.

Gaffa,

The biggest problem, I'm told, has been the lack of rain. The pitch has been punctured for ventilation or whatever, and all the sand laid. The plan was that it would have seen more rain by now, but obviously it hasn't. Still, I can't figure out where the dosh went.

We will likely play our first game on the top field, which is very hard right now and will need to be lengthened by about 10 yards.

Then we may need to move to Fortress McBride for a couple of games to let the planned footy pitch grow, get cut and rolled, etc.

Apparently McBride has had a lot of work done to it and looks very good.

Still, we are 3-0-0 on the top pitch and it's pretty alright apart from being hard.

Of course the rugger pitch is all lush so that that stupidly shaped ball can bounce nicely:mad:
