This is what's in the league hand book.

Tournament Rules

* All games will consist of two (2) 22-minute halves with the exception of the semi-final and final games, which will be 35 minutes per half.
* Ties occurring in the round-robin portion of the tournament will remain as ties.
* Ties during the semi-finals will be decided first by overtime (two 5 minute sudden death periods), and then if undecided, by penalty kicks.
* A tie in the final will follow the same format as the semi-final, except that the overtime period will have 10-minute halves.
* A penalty kick shoot-out must alternate male and female shooters beginning with female.

A win during round-robin play is worth 3 points; a tie is worth 1 point.
The tie-breaking format is as follows:
1. Most points accumulated during round-robin play
2. Head to head results between tied teams
3. Goal difference (Goals for minus goals against)
4. Goals for
5. Penalty Kicks
6. Coin toss

In addition to the AMSL league rules and regulations, the following are rules that are specific to the AMSL pre-season tournament:
1. If a player receives 2 yellow cards during the tournament, that player is suspended for the duration of the tournament.

2. If a player receives a red card in the tournament, that player is suspended for the remainder of the tournament. Please note that 2 yellow cards in one game constitute a red card, and therefore, expulsion from the tournament.

3. Any suspensions sustained during the tournament will not be enforced during league play. That is, once the tournament ends, the suspension ends. Also, team discipline points will not be added on to your team's total for the regular season.

4. With the above paragraph in mind, any violent foul or serious case of dissent towards the referee or another player will not be tolerated at any time. Any such case will be reviewed by the league's discipline committee, and could result in a suspension from league play, as well as the tournament.

5. If a Team forfeits a game during the tournament, there will be a $50 fine.

The Tourney schedule was given to all Team Contacts to distribute to their players, and the Team Contacts will be receiving a hard copy of it as well as the League Booklet on Saturday morning when fees are paid!

It's supposed to be decent weather :wa:

From the updated league booklet...

A win during round-robin play is worth 3 points; a tie is worth 1 point.
The tie-breaking format is as follows (and this is also the format for the regular season):

1. Most points accumulated during round-robin play
2. Head to head results between tied teams
3. Fewest Goals Against (to prevent running up of the score)
4. Coin toss

Refs have been instructed by Herb to start and end games at their scheduled time, so they will be 50 minutes in duration...or less for the stragglers.

Fingers crossed for nice weather!

Good Tournament Everyone!!

Besides the weather...the weekend went very smoothly!!

Thanks to all teams for paying up your fees before the end of the weekend...yes, Cheatside and Dragons even paid before the final whistle! ;)

CONGRATS to Cosmos and Cheating Dragons for making the Final. It ended with a Cosmos win...a different way of ending the tourney...22 players PK's...it was entertaining!!

To the teams who took down the nets...thank-you...and I'm not sure how the teams who own the nets are going to get them, but I'm sure it will be worked out!!

Have a great Season everyone!!

Good Tournament Everyone!!
Besides the weather...the weekend went very smoothly!!

I dont know what you guys did at Gates but we have a great Mud Wrestling Tournament at Kway!!

Union Jackers had a team of Sedins. We had issues scoring goals.

Good opening tournament and at first i was disapointed that we played all our games on Saturday, but then it gave me an opportunity to golf on Sunday so thanks!

My first complaint, and probably my last until we play Young Guns is that we play Young Guns at 6:00pm at Van Tech AGAIN!! this year.
Did we not complain enough about that early start time in Vancouver?

I can tell you now that it'll be a struggle to field a team for 6pm.
Just a heads up :)

Good luck to all this season

PS: is there a website up with the schedule yet?

None that can be posted with out extreme backlash...

ha ha ha...sorry gang...I was gonna take some pics, but I was too busy trying to gather scores...gather fees, etc...plus, me waddling along the sidelines was tough as is, let alone put myself in danger of gettin' smoked by an out of bounds ball  (and I know some of you would be aiming) ;)

It was a good tourney...all went well...the final was all in fun...22 person PK's between Cosmos and Cheating Dragons with Cosmos coming out with the "W"
