For quite possibly the happiest film of the last decade, I encourage you to see Amélie, the curiously funny story of an unconventional woman who does her best to brighten the lives of all those around her.
I can't even begin to go into the halarious details of this movie, but for a taste of the humour, imagine the director's past efforts, Delicatessen or City of Lost Children -- just as funny, or more so -- but much brighter and happier. (Example: watch for an all-time classic scene showing how to seek revenge on a football fan)
Spend your money well: take your spouse or otherwise, go for sushi, and see this movie. It'll be well worth your while.
