Apparently Teibert also caused the need for the foul that led to the first goal as well - I say apparently because I missed about those five minutes of the game and the replays are only showing the goal itself. So, 3 for 3 if that's true.

I don't care how hard he works. I worked hard when I played silver. Gonna put me in? Didn't think so. Oh and I haven't forgotten how he threw the entire team under the bus in that post-season presser two years ago, so this "no attitude" label isn't entirely deserved. A true pro would never ever do that publicly.

I'm not sure what game Dos Santos was watching. They chased the ball the entire game in their home opener. Not optimal.

I think the outside backs are being treated harshly here, but the centre back pairing isn't good enough. They're short a stud in there, two central midfielders, and we'll see about the wingers.

"high pressure possession game". who do they think they're fooling. pass it sideways until someone gets bored and then lump it forward for a 1 on 4 tussle. It's called Whitecaps.

Nerwinski has become to me what RT is to you. He's shite, boggles the mind he's hung onto a job, again, because he "works hard. FFS, I'd rather have Rusty the left footer playing RB than Jake. He's that bad in my view.

You are right about a foul right in the middle, though, and I do believe it was RT. Free kick went in, it was defended on first shot but the ball remained in the area for the second opportunity, goal. Bad defending all around. I think it was Cornelius who get's the goat on poor marking, but yeah, there was a free given up in a terrible spot.

This game was so bad it's impossible to count the ways, it's easier to count the things that went right.

-Supporters tried hard, starting with the bus thing.
-Crepeau wasn't bad, had one key anticipation save late to give the home squad hope.
-You can see that Cava may very well end up banging in a bunch if he can have his squad help generate just a couple a match. He's a handful, though though he spent too much time looking for balls over the top on Saturday instead of getting in some diagonal runs to switch side or open space...

That's it for positives, and even then....

Apparently the bus actually got stuck in traffic a few blocks away and the supporters had to walk over and stop traffic to get it thru so the players could actually get to the game.

"With the team bus trapped two blocks away from the stadium en route to the game, the supporters groups awaiting their arrival got word and rushed down Beatty Street to rescue their club. They blocked traffic and escorted the bus to B.C. Place where the grateful players offloaded and walked through the throngs of fans to the game"

You can't make this stuff up...

For the record Dude, one local fvsl player trained with the Caps for a 2-3 weeks as they called him to have a look. He said he absolutely ripped Nerwinski to shreds. felt he was wasn’t any better then local Valley players. I’m with you, I don’t get him. Other then a descent athlete he could be replaced with any number of local players and they could do just as shitty a job.

Right?

Part of me is wondering, well, if they are just signing low level pros, why go on with the Nerwinski's of the world when that spot can be filled by a local?

Then I think, fcuk, I actually want my team to win, shouldn't we be trying to sign better players than available locally?

No?

Silly thought?

What am I missing?

If you watched the game at the Pub you were at least blessed with not hearing the commentators make excuses and refer repeatedly to the "reinforcements" that are coming...

They should all clear customs/immigration by week 4-5, which will buy the current coach a few weeks longer than he likely deserves. Instead of being booted at week 5.

Bad start...

I don't think he'll last 5 weeks if that is the product out there.

There are three, maybe 4-5 above average MLS players there, maybe.

-Crepeau
-Adnan (when he's in the mood, about 40% of the time)
-Milinković
-Reyna (but comments above I also buy into, dribbles into trouble way too often, it's predictable)
-Cava

The depth is supposed to be made of guys that cut it in the league.

Dájome? There was a lot of hype there, but I saw nothing outstanding. I'd put him as average. If he stops taking the dives, maybe I'll grow to like him a bit.

The rest? I'm even off the RT bandwagon. At least before I was OK w/ him as depth. Now? No way. And the manager put an armband on him. FFS, really?

Junk.

I lost it in Sun Peaks and almost threw my drink at the telly when Hurtado scored.

I don't know what me laugh harder:
1.) The fact he absolutely ripped one with such confidence in the skint three minutes he got to see the pitch, that we'd all been patiently waiting years for him to do. Or,
2.) That stupid fcukwit hair cut he had going on...

Goof for him but the Caps are a joke.

One game in and you're already off the RT bandwagon? Lol
That central midfield pairing is quite optimistic. Both aren't the physical imposing type or ball winners imo. The new guy hopefully will fill that void. Montreal just signed Wynyama from Tottenham...he would have been perfect in that role.

Who would you want to wear the armband?
80% of the squad could be gone next year. Lol

I think a captaincy needs to be proven. RT is not a leader, full stop. We’ll see who emerges, hopefully Cava but I’d be fine with Crepeau or even nobody for now.

As for the RT bandwagon....was never fully on. Certainly not as a starter, and only as depth. He was WAY out of his depth Saturday. At least with Inboem, dispute being built lighter that a U13 girl, you can see quality. He needs an animal beside him to be effective. There is talk about another Korean coming in. I haven’t bothered to lol him up. If he’s a 10, we are just on the same path of being a slight, easy to knock off the ball team. Heaven forbid he’s a diver, too. Last thing we need. Seeing a strong, well muscled guy like Dejome go down so fcuking easily is embarrassing.

Visit Voyageur for dinner and definitely go on a snow shoe hike.

There are endless runs there, no line ups, and it is an amazing set up.

I'm sold and am a member of Team TR now (Shhhh don't tell him though) instead of overrated Team Dude. ;)

BOT - Caps are junk

Looking forward to it I haven't been for at least 15 years but I do remember loving it back then and they were just starting to build.

Voyaguers looks good but I may have to ditch a nine year old to really enjoy it. TR you available for babysitting?

Tiebert is the fittest player on the Caps, as LA started looking leggy he started to stand out for sure. I don’t know, I was bored to shite personally. Positive result but I fell asleep twice.
