Dynamo 3- Burnaby Coasters 1
Choppy game, very physical, being a cup game everyone was pretty fired up. All goals off of set pieces. We go up 1-0 on a corner, far post, R-Tee with a beauty touch and finish! They get a nice one on a free kick near the 18, their forward makes a knifing run and hits it with the outside of his foot and it goes inside post. Nice finish. 1-1. We get another off another corner, almost same play, far post but a little flick and then our guy roofs it from about 3 yards out. Not good marking by them on either corner. We get another near the end of the half off a free kick about 22 yards out, a great hit over the wall curling away from the keeper. 3-1 at half.
Nothing much in second half, they pushed the last 10-15 but we held pretty well. Overall, we had more chances, and felt we were deserving of the result.
Burnaby were a nice group of guys and played hard the whole night, an enjoyable game to play in.
Nice to see 4th place Trophy last night and chat about Mission's win--well done! Onwards to Red Devils, a team that we do seem to struggle with.

Wrong Abby player.
The Italians are well represented with Bacardi, Legion and Imperio in the cup. Legion are the favourites over Bacardi who have lost a player or two to Masters including one of their all-time marksmen to Columbus. Bacardi are also getting older overall and will have to rely on their experience over the high flyers from the VMSL. Imperio have gone back to back semifinalists(?) if I recall. Can they take the next step this year? Still early days!

The Valley this year is strong, just look at the table there’s barely anything between 1st and 9th. Then look through the results every game is a battle, besides a handful of games basically every result was decided by 1 or 2 goals.
I’m predicting a Valley team reaches the final on the top bracket. Abby, Blue Devils, Dynamo, or Red Devils will be in the final.

Lost 2-0 per the BC Soccer site.
Any reason the Blue Devils result is not posted? Any issues/protests or something of that ilk? BC Soccer has been unusually prompt with their updates so its a bit odd that it has not been posted yet.
Looks like you nailed one w/ your baseless prediction.
I dunno anything about either team, but I do know Pomo traditionally fields a good squad. That, and as has been stated, the league is stronger, and being involved in tight games week-in-week-out prepares a team well. Maybe I'm getting old, and so are they?

Poor showing indeed from the VISL on the road with one team not bothering and the other only able to muster 11 bodies; we'll see how they do with a couple of home games this week. RASA with all their teams still in the competition, the other four leagues all -2 apiece.
