Does anyone know what happened suspension/charges wise for the biggest goof in the lower mainland, Milad? They need to lock him up and toss the key in lost lagoon! The guy is a classless joke that shouldnt see another pitch around these parts for a long time if ever. 2 years in a row with major incidents and if i remember correctly one more idiotic outburts a few years back. When is enough enough? Who knows really, especially when Inter is attached at the dick to BC Soccer

Coastal 3-1 Croatia

A beautiful day out in South Surrey for this one and a healthy sized crowd added to the atmosphere. Croatia came out the first 20min showing their class. They pressed us high up the park and dictated play with ease. After missing 1 or 2 chances Croatia broke the deadlock with a nice finish, 1-0. Safe to say the nerves got to us in the first 20min after a few years out of the competition.

We began to work ourselves into the game, getting a hold of some possession and finding our feet. Starheim was beginning to create problems for Croatia’s defense with his pace and physicality. After some nice interplay, a cross from the right lead to a knock down header from our left wing back right into the path of Starheim who riffled it into the top corner. 1-1 at half.

After some oranges and hot coco, second half we were the better team. We seemed more organized, more fit and carving out carved out quality chances. After a couple missed opportunities we found our goal. A nice run down the left, pin point cross to our wide open winger who finished calmly with his melon, 2-1. Soon after another cross to our wide open forward but a missed header kept things tight. Croatia soon replied with a great strike from Malamura that was well saved from our keeper.

With less then 10min left Starheim made another brilliant individual run, honestly can’t remember whether it was a cross or a shot but it was bumbled into the net by a Croatian player, 3-1. The game felt sealed only for Croatia to immediately respond, winning a PK. Our keeper guessed right and looked like he had it covered as the ball ringed off the post. Croatia threw 6 guys forward but we saw out the last 5 min with ease for the win.

A good win for us as a first round exit would have been a big disappointment. Onto the winner of Inter v Gorge.

Rino's 6-0 Aldergrove FT

Scoreline was fair; easy day at the office for Rino's.

If Inter's Twitter account is to be believed they were up 2-0 within minutes of the game kicking off. Silence since the so we'll have to wait and see if things continued in that vein.

Reports from the weekend to follow...

Well looks like BC Soccer rendered their verdict on this one. Milad gets 7 months; retroactive to the date of the incident which makes him eligible to return mid-October.

Not sure BC Soccer got this one exactly right as basically this just leaves him ineligible to play Summer League. If you do the math, he is out of this season's Provincials and then he stands to miss the first six weeks of next year's VMSL season. One presumes that the VMSL will also tack on an Imperial Cup suspension for next season's competition as well given that the league still needs to deal internally with the in-game portion of the incident.

All in all it does seem a bit soft; IMO 7 months would be a more acceptable punishment if it ran September onward, which would keep him out through March or, ostensibly, a one season ban. Then again, despite all the anecdotal evidence and his history of such incidents, this would appear to be the first time he has been formally charged, which means he is technically not a repeat offender and I'm sure that was taken into consideration. No idea if there has been anything further on the VPD side of things.
