saw a few minutes on the whitecaps facebook feed that I'm pretty sure is filmed on someones phone (literally had a finger on the lens at one point) and then also went out. Solid.

Atiba rumors getting stronger. If they sign him, count me in for a couple of STs. Reyna's finish today was pure class, looking forward to watching this kid play...and if Atiba is the new midfield general, it changes everything.

Atiba isn't coming... He costs way more than the Caps are willing to spend. Expect to see a slightly above average Central American. Possibly Honduran.

Didn't the commissioner say that MLS would allocate money to Canadian teams if they get a Canadian designated player? If so, then we could afford him?!?

That's the wagon I'm hitching my hopes to, that the "Subsidy plan", whatever it is, is enough for the Caps to cover the difference needed to bring Atiba to Vancouver.

Even if MLS subsidise the transfer, I can't imagine the caps matching his salary demands

Dezza, is the subsidy just for the transfer? He makes around 1million euro a season, roughly the same amount as Pedro did. So we can afford him if we want him.

Operative term is "if they are willing to spend." Thus far there has been absolutely no indication that would be the case. If he does decide to come back to North America, expect to see him wearing somebody else's jersey.

1 million base, about 1.5 if you include all his appearance bonuses which he is likely to achieve. Consider that he probably pays little to no tax in Turkey, and I'd say an equivalent MLS contract would have to be $2mill
