Mundiavocat FC is a team of lawyers, accountants, and other professionals who share a love of the beautiful game. Named after the World Cup of Lawyers in which the team competes every two years, the team recently earned its best-ever result at the 2014 Tournament in Budapest, Hungary, finishing in 9th place out of 32 teams from across the world.

The team looks forward to another strong season in 2014-2015 and hopes to add a second first-division championship trophy (the first being in 2012-2013) and to qualify for the Provincial for the third time in the past four years.

We qualified by winning one of the two cups in Burnaby this year.

Which game would be considered Match Of The Week in the opening round?

I'd venture to say All Blacks and Gastown could be a good tilt, and perhaps Campbell River and TSA Royals?!

I have some mates on The Royals, had a good laugh at them having to travel so far for that fixture, absolute quality

Since 2000, the winners of the B cup has gone to:
7-Richmond
3-VMSL...(with 1 CAT team winning it all!)
2-VISL(?)...Campbell River,Salt Spring
1-Burnaby
1-FVSL
1-North Caribou League

Richmond is getting it done! All Blacks were in the final last year too. So what is Richmond doing right that the rest of the leagues are not doing??

From past years, I think the talk was always that the Richmond League had a bunch of sandbagging teams as their premier teams really should be competing for the A cup.

The Dragons come to mind as a team that really shouldn't have been playing B

This is true in that Richmond plays on B forms when their top teams are not B teams. Don't think they're top A teams either which may explain why they are on B's. Dragons were a decent team but there's no way they were ever competing in the A provincials if they were eligible. KURGAN!

Yeah, the Dragons had a really good team back then but I'm not too sure if they could've competed with the boys in the A cup. Maybe some VMSL and FVSL div.1 teams should be incorporated into the B cup? Say 3rd and 4th place finishers from the year before get a B cup spot.
Div1 is so tricky, not quite good enough for the A cup but too good for the B cup??

Won't ever happen with vmsl n fvsl div 1 teams because the leagues need those numbers for A cup spots.

In some pre tourney exhibition action out at Winskill last night, TSA Royals 3 Richmond Athletics 3

Having never seen Campbell River play, I would venture to predict that TSA will beat them this weekend based on last nights showing. An early morning ferry followed by a lengthy drive could be a massive equalizer for CR though. Time will tell I suppose.
