Gorge plays (played?) Alberta this morning - the schedule says 9:30AM but I don't know if that is Eastern or Atlantic time.

Nutmegs and the girls are scheduled to play tomorrow vs Quebec @ 10:30 (again I don't know what timezone that is in reference to).

btw, is this still an indoor tournament with 30 minute halves and 11pm kickoffs?

2-0 Surrey United over Les Verts de Sherbrook. Katie Thorlakson and Natalie Halcro with the goals. Wind was definitely a factor in the game and we did better with it as we scored both when we had the wind and then defended well against it.

On to Manitoba tomorrow morning.

Gorge FC, the British Columbia champion from Victoria, made an emphatic start to their Challenge Trophy campaign with a 2-0 win over Alberta’s representatives, the Calgary Dinosaurs, in the tournament’s first game played on the UPEI turf.

Under bright blue skies and with a vocal contingent of travelling supporters, the Alberta champions took the lead after 10 minutes from a headed goal by Jamie Merriman.

Controlling the play for long periods, Gorge added to their lead with finely-taken goal by Kellen Holden after 68 minutes.

Gorge is off today while Calgary will look to rebound against Saskatchewan.

Hi, a little off topic, but I was curious, has a FVSL team ever won Provincials or Nationals before. I see that Surrey United won a lot of FVSL awards, but not sure if that was part of the FVSL or not. Thanks.
