What is with this did they have some new age format for when everyone gets older was there to much of a skill difference between the gap of 30 - 40:eek:

Thanks for the draw Regs.

It looks like the possibility of an England / Scotland rematch in the final...although I'm sure a few other teams might have something to say about that. Once again, it looks like England is in the "group of death"

IF you're interested to see the difference, there is a group of exhibition games tomorrow ( sat) at Langley Secondary.
Scotland over 38's vs. Scotland over 45's At 10:30 (?)
Scotland over 30's vs. Scotland open team at 12:00

I believe

I think they have a ranking system for the teams that make it out of the groups and how they finish, like germany woudl be #1 this year becuase they won it last, with Italy being #2 and so on...

I am not sure how they do the others who don't make it out of the groups

Cheers

The four semi-finalists are put in the four different groups.......the rest of the teams are drawn from a hat and placed in order of picking them..........

Yep, as JB said, the top 4 teams (according to last year's result) are ranked 1 - 4 and placed in seperate groups. From there, I believe it is exactly as the name suggests ... a "Draw", NOT an allocation based on some conspiracy to see Fiji and the Carib battle it out year after year.

Looking forward to the tourney.

Willy

PS - Croatia is out and Poland is in.

are you reading what i wrote little WILLY? i think not, if you did you would see i never mention about a conspiracy of any sort. just asking a simple question on how they did the pools.

Sorry RATU, that was just my pathetic attempt at humour. Maybe I should have placed a smiley face at the end of my sentence :D However, I don't see one after your "little willy" comment ;-)

For the record RATU, Fiji were indeed drawn into a group with the Carib in 2001. However, in 2000, you were NOT. And though I can't seem to locate the groups for 1999, I do know from the 1998 records that Fiji and the Carib were again NOT grouped together. Hardly "every fricken year".

thank you

thank you WILLY for your through investagation on the topic you must have gone high and low to prove me wrong, I appreciate the time and effort you have put in to this matter and appoligize for giving out such fraud information. I do know that we have played them more than once in the past years, it just seems to me that we had played them "every frickin year", please accept my appoliges as i must have drank one too many bowls of grog and my memory has served me wrong.:(
