and in response to AMA: "This is a shocking decision to block this merger. Had it been any other club involved rather than CCBFC there would never have been any opposition."
There may very well have been opposition from local clubs and or the BOG, this I don't really know but...I can say...
I will say it again, there are two franchises within Surrey already...why didn't CCB promote their Elite players trying out for SU or SF?
Well Heanjob, whether it was their intention or not....they have now lets say "encouraged" their Elite players to try out for SU, albeit in an unorthodox...
Very well said soccermom, we're on the same page.
...and no TTP'ers, we're not a couple....unless my wife is posting on here now without my knowledge??
;)
Yes AMA..."word is" you're incorrect. I know of several players ( on separate soccer clubs ) including my own kid who play ball at a high level ( all through the summer plus indoor training even now ) and their soccer coaches know about it and are okay with it as long as there is good...
Based on the CCB kids alone, I hope it's a good thing. Some great kids there that I will be happy to see join the BCSPL one way or another.
FTR I don't like how CCB went about the whole thing since February, holding kids back, promoting club first rather than player etc but....if this is what...
The simple answer is Yes they have.
What is wrong with SU and SF? If you have the Player First mentality? Absolutely nothing, they are both great.
However if you have an "advance the club first and preserve the positions of power first" mentality, then it really doesn't matter how good SU...
I'd be interested in seeing how that is pitched....back in February HPL was "no good, not worth the money, don't send your kids to tryouts..." now, I quote "CCBFC strongly believes that providing an avenue of elite soccer for our homegrown talent is immensely important within club goals in...
So much for my sources ( MTKB and Mr Elmes )! what the hell am I paying you for? ;)
Interesting repercussions in a few areas....
Attn; parents of kids on the Abbotsford U13 & U14G BCSPL teams......unless your daughter is a top 3 player......I'm not sure I would be very excited about this...
Simple answer...NO WAY, there isn't. It's called Metro ( or at least that's the idea....and I see becoming more and more the reality this upcoming and subsequent seasons ).
Won't happen....Metro is to be the 'feeder'. Any more than that and things become even more watered down than they are...
Yes, SU has the same format.
It does seem like a good way for parents / players submit their interest without necessarily having to go to the field first and get the coaches attention etc.
As many of the players and parents from various clubs know one another, that could be awkward...
I don't know about other clubs but at ours, I think I can say with confidence that our TD wouldn't allow that to happen. IE; a metro coach restricting upward movement, or punishing players for up and down movement.
If the MSL coaches are taking this approach then the club has the wrong person...
