    BC Soccer Voting Structure Shiteshow

For C4E. A couple of points of order. 1. When voting, you say each side abstains on items of business unrelated to their group. How then is a majority vote reached (50+1) if half aren’t voting? And if there were a split within the adult voters, say, couldn’t motions be defeated even with the...

BCSPL, stacking teams and it's eventual self destruction?

In my opinion, 'stacking' is too strong a word - it implies an active (and in this environment, ethically questionable) pursuit of or by players to join a single team with the primary interest of crushing other teams. I don't think the intent of the players is all that nefarious. In at least...

    HPL Founding Franchises

I understand the Girls U16 team has 16 provincial players signed and the GU15 team has 8 provincial players (with Surrey having another 8). I'm not sure I'd call that "average". But yes, development is the key.

    HPL Founding Franchises

Whatever it is, it would need to be significant in order to impact the 1600 or so registered players; e.g. you'd need $1.6M in trickle down money to save each players $1000. My guess is it won't be anywhwere nead that much.

What's the future of BCSA's Provincial Team Program now that we have BCPL?

For the boys, what I've heard re the Whitecaps is as follows: - U21 PDL Residency in the PDL reserve league - U16 & 18 USSDA teams (18-20 players) - U13/14/15 pre-academy teams on which there will only be approx 10-12 players. Players in adjacent age groups will be combined as necessary for...

    HPL Founding Franchises

There is no formal BCPL programming between the evaluations (starting now) and the start of the mini-season in the fall. However, (a) players are free to register with a spring/summer team such as SYL or academies (indeed, CMF is having their incoming U13s play in U12 SYL); (b) players may have...

    HPL Founding Franchises

#1. There will be a mini-season for all age groups this year only. After this year, there will only be a mini-season for incoming U12s who are tranistioning to U13. So that age group may,as you say, get hit with the $2500 price tag each year. #2. The summer break is 4 weeks not 2 months...

LOL, Dude. Not bad. A bit red in the neck perhaps, but funny. And, exactly, its TTP - nothing personal. ;)

    HPL Founding Franchises

    1. You're right. Everything should be free. We should all work for nothing. No one in the history of the world has ever charged for any type of an assessment ever so this is an affront. Lets all move to, I dunno, North Korea. Get real. We live in a user-pay society like it or not. Not...

    HPL Founding Franchises

I agree. I don't like the idea either. (btw, I am not connected to the VR club). I think that the so-called super-clubs may very well do that, which is great. For partnership- based clubs however, the situation is trickier. What club do they ask? I know that for one franchise, they have...

    HPL Founding Franchises

BC Soccer has nothing to do with the assessment fee. It is a franchise decision. Secondly, out of exactly which bank account are the (non-club based) PL clubs supposed to pay for the field rentals and evaluators? Then again, I wouldn't expect anyone that resorts to swearing, displays...

    New Youth HPL league

The $2500 or so includes travel costs to the Island and the Interior but not for tournaments. The money is not "just to pay coaches" but to cover all expenses of the HPL club while remaining revenue neutral. Coaches will be compensated but not to the extent that they could make a living from...

$4000. (I know one parent who will likely have two kids going in both HPL and Provincials in a couple of years - $13,000, yikes!) Btw, do the provincial teams not play in the Nutrilite All Stars Tournament?

    New Youth HPL league

Coaches I have spoken to who have coached SYL and/or are very familiar with the league have indicated that SYL has not been able to maintain the level of play and development which was originally envisioned; that it too has been watered down; that the best teams in the LM are in Metro/Select...
