True, but it really is about the training and competition. Eventually if these new players are good enough and show it they will play more. As you may see from my posts, I'm not a big supporter of the whole BCSPL, but I can appreciate the practice to play ratio.
That would be great if everyone accepted the premise that the kid is putting himself first instead of the team. Community coaches can't tell them they can't play, just that there are consequences, such as you might get hurt. Having said that explain to the kid who comes to every practice, knows...
Any team can keep training after their season, but in any other league a player can be approached after the last league game( no cup for the mini season) without a threat of poaching.
For example, if I was a coach of a U16 MSL team and one of my former players who I know wasn't playing a ton...
Good questions.
From what I understand, this is supposed to be a rest period (see periodization schedule).
Apparrently BC soccer said the players are "signed until Dec 15th (that is what the franchises have agreed to). This is unlike any other league in which you are free to talk to anyone and...
I wouldn't call it "volunteering"? I call it looking at things out of context.
Like I said, consider all the other factors like pairings etc. Have you been a field coordinator?
Volunteer at a meeting and see all the stuff that is involved.
Great to be on the sidelines coaching but nothing...
Alot of the guys involved in soccer in BC -coach,s, players, parents , executives, leage admin etc follow TTP even if some don,t post. Either way TTP allows soccer guys to post their views.
The guys in charge of the leages should implement changes when neccessary and some changes still need to...
I agree that we don't need to see subs every time the ball is out of touch. But we have to give kids a chance to play or what is the point of carrying more than say 5 subs? I guess they plan on a lot of injuries or need the cash or both.
How is not playing a player development? Especially when there are 18 players on a squad? How do they learn in game situations? How about reinforcing positive play? How do you give the players time who are coming back from injury?
It sounds like the y-league sub rule was a lot more reasonable...
Have a look at the MSL and their season is done at the end of February. Then it's cup. Are cut HPL players allowed in the B or C or Z cup or whatever it's called these days?
We are talking about two different things. Where is the development to go play school soccer. One of the reasons the HPL was developed was to stop players overtraining. That is one issue.
Another is how is it fair to your team, which is working on possibly set pieces or specific elements in...
Also on the basis that the kids shouldn't play other sports, there is the catch that elite athletes (have to consider 13 and 14 year olds) have to choose one sport and that will drive kids away.
Especially with the 10 month season that runs into a number of other sports seasons.
Studies...
Ahh.... so well thought out by the so-called experts/professionals.
In December and January all we heard was don't worry now, we'll have it all worked out.
Glad I didn't pay for my child to be involved in this farce.
Hope it survives to iron out everything, otherwise it will be sometime before...
Anyone know how much $$ BC soccer is using of our money to "support" this new league?
I wonder how much the leagues would think if they got the same amount of support?
The technical manual looks like Marcus was busy for a while. Then three times a year they will have data on about 1800 players...
