tough Sat night game vs SSFC last night at Westview. Physical start to the game, albiet I was in goal and got a straight red for contact with the forward on a breakaway. Don't know how the rest of the game was as the nice ref sent me to the showers after he blew a similar foul at the other end...

No, ours took down your guy outside the box on a free ball, got called for a free kick but no card issued. seems more often than not, ref's are making calls based more on opinion than rule. personal favorite is an obstruction call in the box being given as a PK.

Question...if a striker on a clear breakaway is taken down by the goaltender who does not make contact with the ball, and a penalty kick is given...is there not a card to the goaltender? What color?

Same could be said for Thunder. Not taking away from Rangers win as they capitalized when it counted. Game won on a routine free kick struck from 30+yds which was deflected beside the wall and sent keeper the wrong way.
