Wow. Well done Lomas. 2B is officially wide open.
Bombastic 2-0 Yaletown. Good clean match, and good to get the old friendly rivalry going again. Referee was decent except for one atrocious offside call when our backs shanked the ball to a Bombastic striker who would've been through on a...
Beware their long-haired midget playmaker, who seems to be escaping sanction for playing while suspended last week. He scored at least three of their goals against UBC and Temple. He'll probably be back to #10 after playing as #15 last week.
That's definitely the case in 2B. The Bombastic result from last week showed that teams are going to take points off one another up and down the table, probably until the end. MYB have had a flying start on turf, but their game at Meralomas this weekend will be a different sort of test. And...
It should be a pretty straightforward situation if the league compares the photos from Saturday with the player's card, or shows them to UBC representatives and/or the referee from the UBC game.
That's definitely the same player who was out there today- someone from UBC or the ref that sent him off would have to see the photos as well, though, to affirm that he was out there last week, as well. I'm not sure what the league protocol in these situations is.
Watched a very talented MYB defeat Temple 4-0 today. Was a bit unsettled by the fact that two goals were apparently scored by the player who was sent off against UBC last week and shouldn't have been playing. He's probably the most technically skilled player in all of Div. 2, and I played...
Panthers are very young and skilled in midfield and up front. They won the Vancouver International Soccer Festival this summer with one of the best small-side performances I've seen. They're a bit dodgy at the back, and their keeper could easily lose half his body weight and still be fine, but...
Good match against Lomas tonight. They went up 2-0 in the first ten minutes with a couple of scrappy goals, and it looked like we were on our way to a 5-0 hiding. Started playing our game and clawed our way back to 2-1 by half, and a few changes at the midway helped us carry momentum into a...
As we mentioned earlier, those players didn't join the team until January, which is why Aryana are where they are in the standings. The whole group would have been considerably different if they had their cup squad from day one.
