Squamish has now lost to both other group winners. Granted they played HNK without their only good player ( literally). Not sure how Shaheen lost out to them in 2A.
Desmesh is not the same team as they were earlier on in the year. The game against Meraloma was pretty even, with Desmesh having more high quality scoring chances. Meraloma tied the game in the 5th minute of time added (yes 5th minute) of the 2nd OT. This after the ref gave a phantom corner...
Ref was atrocious.
Played 20 mins on the 2nd half of OT and basically waited for Meraloma to score. Corner after corner until one deflected in.
Game wasn't really well played by either side. Doesn't help that Desmesh was missing their center mid ( moving back to Japan on Monday) and...

2 pretty young teams that could both run and play a similar style. It's too bad really these 2 teams had to meet up so early, as Richmond could have done very well in cup play.
I thought only players signed to the CAT teams were eligible to play in this cup...
Otherwise it would be silly to have premier players playing for their CAT teams in Div 2 cup
Does anyone know the actual rules? Can player play in more than one cup?

Only thing I agree with you on is 2C is the weakest division. However, the only reason it is weaker is consistency for all teams has been a problem. When Sarajevo has their players they are a very solid team, having tied Desmesh...
That score flatters you. Should have been 5-0 at half, and maybe 10-0 by games end.
The entire game was played in your 30 yards. If not for extremely poor finishing and some decent saves from your keeper that game would have been a blow out.
2 of the current group leaders came from Div 3 the year before your team did.
So it's not that uncommon to have Division 3 teams ( the ones who just started spot or changed leagues) to do well in Div 2.
HNK averages about 2 goals against every game (23 goals in 12 games), and TSA scores about 2 every game (23 goals in 11 games) so I don't think it's that far fetched that TSA will score a goal.
Whether they win or not is a different story. HNK has won every game but one, by a single goal...

Are teams allowed to send players down from Div 1 to Div 2 or even Prem to Div 2? Does this work as a CAT system?
Can players registered with Div 2 teams go up and play for Premier teams?
