Bloody Van Olympics being selfish and getting a last-minute equaliser in our last game. Its not like they needed that point anyway. pffff
We should be able to keep most of the lads together. As a slightly less athletic side, a return to Div2 might be quite welcome for a few of us!!
Akal and Campo both have one game left, which is against one another. If it is a draw, Akal have one more point than us, if Campo win they have one more point than us. No matter the outcome of the game, we will finish 3rd from bottom. This would relegate us, no?
Between Akal and Campo to stay up now, as GFC are certainly down... Sad times. It's been fun, and a good education for us. Hopefully we can come back and play without the fear that really hindered our early season form.
The draw should be enough to keep akal in the division, unfortunately for us. Fair play to them. Got a lot of regret now that it looks like we are going down. Fair play to all teams concerned, after this many games the better team should prevail, unfortunately.
Big win for AC Campobasso against Shaheen makes for grim viewing for GFC. An unlikely amount of draws required to keep us in the division. Looks like we're going to regret a lot of those last minute goals and throwing away of winning positions throughout the course of the season.
Considering that, who cares? You play what's put in front of you. You're top of the league, we are bottom - you should be able to beat us.
Ps. It's pps.
Massive games in the league this weekend. GFC trying to stay up facing Van Olympics who need to win to go up/win the league. Ajyal v Akal is the same scenario.
Here's hoping that the Van Olympics players had lasagne last night...
As a side note regarding limiting the squad size; players are looking for good training as well as game time.
If you can't make the team in a decent Div2 side and drop down to 3rd, you might be in a worse position when the 3rd Div team doesn't train properly/regularly. I think this makes sense...
It rained goals at Andy Livi on Friday night. 10 goals evenly split, with 5 in each half. Hard to really know what to make of it, as it was such a helter-skelter game. Rinos seemed to have the better of the first half possession, but didn't really carve us open - their first two goals coming...
