Realistically, coaches and TDs should be scouting kids outside of their teams. Realistically, mass tryouts, as we know them, should be a thing of the past at this level. It's time for HPL coaches to get out and watch kids playing for their metro/gold/silver teams and scout players properly...
My 10 cents.
If you go out and watch coaching sessions around the lower mainland you'll see attempts at a lot of the right stuff. Short passing, SSGs, overload games etc etc... 'Drills' are easy to come by these days thanks to the net, so coaches we have quick simple solutions to the 2pm...
With HPL just around the corner, here's a quality, motivational, inspirational chat from Orient gaffer, John Sitton. Fancy getting sacked at half time!

Reported on the caps site. Interesting.
Step in Simon Smith on the GK side. Wouldn't surprise me. Loves it here and is highly respected world wide. How long could they continue to have Cannon at 210k a year on the bench. perhaps this became an issue between management and staff...

Yes, Tipping is a soccer guy. A very experienced one at that. Hart was the TD prior to becoming the Nats head coach. I'm not sure he is now and if he is...what has he done for us lately? Good guy, don't get me wrong, but he shouldn't have to do both jobs.

I suspect many of us here have attended several of these courses and I'm interested to get peoples...
Have to agree balls. I think what stops smaller lads progressing is often stereotypical coaching. However coupled with this is the kids self belief and determination. Yesterday my team played Dan Jones' CMF. In the first half 3 of the best players on the park were the smallest players. ( Dan was...
At some stage there will have to be some sort of financial/sponsor support. At the end of the day there will be a monatary breaking point. I think that families will try it for a year and review at the end of season. This is why it has to be a top quality program from the word go. If I were...
Good post Dude. Have to agree for the most part. However, I'm sure that each club will have to have some form of grant/subsidy system in place inorder to try and make sure that any family without the means are able to participate. The problem however will be if they don't advertise the fact...
BM,
Interesting response from LISA. One would presume that they are a lock to get a franchise. This will, however, leave UVI in the cold it seems.
Base, I went to the last 2 BC soccer conferences. Did anyone else on here? Both were great IMHO. Some great presenters with a vast knowledge of the...
