The OneSoccer crew was joined by Cavalry FC teammates Dominick Zator and Nico Pasquotti on Monday’s episode of Player and Pundit Hangouts. Zator and Nico Pasquotti spoke with OneSoccer's Asa Rehman and Kurt Larson about a variety of topics, including their ambitions of one day playing for Canada’s national team. Zator earned his first-ever international call-up for a Concacaf Nations League match against the United States in Orlando last November. The Cavs defender didn’t feature in that match, but explained he gained a lot from training with so many of Canada’s top players, most notably Alphonso Davies. "That whole week (before the game in training) I was one on one versus him many times; that was a wicked experience to be able to come up against a player like that," Zator said. "I’ve talked with John (Herdman) here and there… but it’s still my goal to continue to work hard, play well and make sure that I get called back." Pasquotti hasn’t spoken to Herdman, but he doesn’t hide his ambitions to play for Canada. "If things go well and hopefully within the next year or so, we can make that jump," Pasquotti said. Zator offered his thoughts on former Cavalry teammate Joel Waterman being transferred to the Montreal Impact this off-season. "He’s very dynamic, and he’s a player who can play many positions… Props to Joel; he helped us out throughout the year, so I think it was a great move for him," Zator said. Pasquotti spoke about York9 FC’s historic sale of Emilio Estevez to Dutch club ADO Den Haag, and what it might mean for other youngsters in the CPL. "I think it’s good because it gives me, Dom and other players in this league that realization that it’s possible, and that’s what this league was meant to do," Pasquotti said. Both also shared how they are dealing with the current period of self-isolation – including Zator offering his top Netflix recommendation (The Last Dance) – and details of their shared experiences training in Spain and Scotland this off-season.
