Valour FC today announce that the club has signed Canadian left back Matteo de Brienne. De Brienne, 19, joins Valour FC from the Carleton University Ravens (Ontario University Athletics) where he scored six goals in ten appearances, helping him earn OUA East Rookie of the Year honours in November, 2021. The Ottawa native joined the Vancouver Whitecaps FC (MLS) residency program when he was just 14 years-old, making 25 appearances and tallying 10 goals for the Whitecaps FC U-17 squad from 2017 to 2018. In 2020, the left back joined Atlético Ottawa, where he spent time with the club during The Island Games in Prince Edward Island. Internationally, de Brienne has attended U-14 and U-15 Canada Soccer identification camps in 2016 and 2017.
