Valour FC today announce that the club has signed Chilean forward Walter Ponce. Ponce, 23, joins Valour FC from A.C. Barnechea (Chilean First B Division) where he spent the 2021 season, totalling 126 minutes played in eight appearances. “Walter has an extremely high work rate, is dangerous in and around the box and is eager for an opportunity to show what he can do,” said Valour FC Head Coach & GM, Phillip Dos Santos. “We want young players that have something to prove and that’s what Walter is all about.” In 2016, Ponce spent time with the youth academy of Granada (La Liga) before joining Universidad de Concepción, a club competing in Chile’s top-flight professional division, Chilean Primera División. In 2018, the forward totaled 1,110 minutes played, five goals and two assists in 17 appearances. Internationally, Ponce was a part of Chile’s U17 National Team squad for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, where he made two appearances, totalling 50 minutes played.
