Having just one point to show from their three matches ― all of which they opened the scoring in — HFX Wanderers scored late Wednesday evening to square things up for a 1-1 draw with York United at York Lions Stadium. The Nine Stripes wasted little time getting the goals started as Osvaldo Ramírez found the back of the net just three minutes in, tapping home after a Max Ferrari strike was pushed off the crossbar by HFX keeper Christian Oxner. The opener was Ramírez's first in the CPL. Halifax came out for the second half looking a much more dangerous outfit, making multiple changes to try and find an equalizer, which substitute Samuel Salter would provide with just over ten minutes remaining. Eriks Santos was sent over for the Wanderers in stoppage time but each team would take one point at full time. York United head to Tim Hortons Field on Saturday to take on Forge FC (4 pm ET), while HFX completes their Ontario road trip with a clash against Atletico Ottawa on Sunday at TD Place (1:30 pm ET/2:30 pm AT).
