After a rainy home opener five days ago, there was much better weather at Wanderers Grounds the second time around, as the sun was shining for HFX Wanderers' match against York United on Saturday. It was an end-to-end contest between the two sides, and the match ended up seeing five goals. Stefan Karajovanovic gave the home team the lead, as a header from Jake Ruby deflected off the Wanderers attacker. The teams traded goals at the end of the first half, with Joao Morelli scoring immediately after York's Max Ferrari equalized for the visitors. In the second half, a brilliant strike in the 54th minute from Isaiah Johnston and a 90th-minute winner from Lowell Wright saw York earn themselves a 3-2 victory on the road.
