Umaro Baldé has joined Pacific FC ahead of the 2022 Canadian Premier League season.

Baldé arrives at Pacific having come through the academies of two of Europe’s most storied club’s. Baldé, 18, first developed in the Sporting Clube de Portugal youth system, playing up to the club’s U-17 team, before leaving Portugal for Scotland where he joined Rangers’ academy in 2019. The attacking midfielder played for Rangers’ U-18 and most recently the club’s Reserve teams. Baldé, born in Guinea-Bissau and a Portuguese citizen, has represented Portugal internationally at the U-15 level.

The technical central midfielder is an attacking threat while playing just behind the striker and moves to the Island to provide additional tactical flexibility to Pacific’s already deep midfield.
