Red hot Pacific FC attacker Terran Campbell has been named CanPL.ca’s Player of the Week of the third week of September following a two-goal output split between league and Canadian Championship play. Campbell, 22, ran rampant against Atlético Ottawa on Sunday, eventually scoring a late 86-minute equalizer to rescue a point for his side at home. Then, in the Canadian Championship quarterfinal against Cavalry FC Wednesday, the young right-winger led his team’s attack in foreign territory. Showing veteran leadership and a commendable amount of perseverance, Campbell eventually found the match’s lone goal, turning a left-footed volley into the net and earning his side a date with Toronto FC in the CanChamp semi-final. Campbell, who was named man of the match against Cavalry, spoke to media after the match alongside his coach Pa-Modou Kah. "He’s doing fantastic for our club," Kah said. "The first year he scored 11 goals, last year only one, so people started doubting him… Even though he’s not much of a talker. He’s always improving himself and you can see how he’s playing at a high level. He has to keep going because with his potential, the sky’s the limit." "I’ve always told myself I’m someone who can stand up to the moment and I know my capabilities, and I have a lot of confidence myself," Campbell said after the match. "I think this is just the beginning of what you can see from me." The 22-year-old winger scored has scored seven goals in the past nine matches – for a total of 20 for the club over three seasons. Campbell is the second PFC player to earn POTW honours, joining Manny Aparicio and other former winners Max Ferrari of York United, Kyle Bekker and Kwame Awuah of Forge FC, Cavalry FC’s David Norman Jr. and Daan Klomp, Valour FC’s Jonathan Sirois and Andrew Jean-Baptiste, and Ottawa's Alberto Soto.
