Pacific FC announced Thursday that veteran goalkeeper Callum Irving will not be returning to the club for the 2023 season. The 29-year-old now becomes a free agent. Irving spent the last three seasons with the club, including winning the North Star Shield in 2021. This past season, he was a finalist for the league's goalkeeper of the year award, his second nomination, with the first coming in 2020. In 2022, he made 26 regular season appearances for Pacific, tying Nate Ingham of Atlético Ottawa for the league lead in saves with 63 and made four appearances in the league's team of the week. The Vancouver, BC native also helped Pacific get to the round of 16 in the Concacaf League, where they would eventually lose on penalty kicks to Costa Rican side Herediano.
