York9 FC is set to feature yet another talented Canadian attacking star for the 2020 season, having penned the signature of free agent and former Valour FC winger Michael Petrasso, according to Kurt Larson of OneSoccer. Petrasso, 24, joined Valour FC for the inaugural 2019 Canadian Premier League season. He made 20 appearances for the Winnipeg club, scoring six goals. The Torontonian would be returning to his native Ontario to suit up for the Nine Stripes in 2020, after seeing out his tenure with Valour FC. Larson had previously reported the possible move earlier in the week, but confirmed the acquisition on Tuesday. Petrasso would presumably slot into one of the wing roles in Jimmy Brennan's preferred 4-2-3-1 formation, replacing Ryan Telfer, who was recalled from his loan by Toronto FC and has yet to confirm his next stop after being released by the Reds immediately after. Before joining the Canadian Premier League, Petrasso suited up for English outfit Queens Park Rangers, as well as the Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer. He has amassed nine appearances for the Canadian men's national team since 2016, too.
