Canada's national futsal team will attempt to qualify for the FIFA Futsal World Cup for just the second time in its history Friday at the 2021 Concacaf Futsal Championship in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The Canadians face Panama in the tournament's second quarterfinal – live for free on OneSoccer's YouTube channel – with the winner making the top four and, in turn, qualifying for the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Lithuania later this year. Canada, managed by current Forge FC assistant Kyt Selaidopoulos, closed out the group stage with a 1-1-0 record in Group C after beating Haiti 4-2 and losing to Costa Rica 5-1. Panama – who finished runners-up in the 2016 Concacaf championship – qualified for the knockout round after dispatching Suriname and Mexico in Group B. Canada has reached the World Cup once, in 1989, where they failed to advance past the group stage.
