Seven of eight Canadian Premier League clubs are featured in the latest Gatorade Team of the Week. Midfielders Kyle Bekker (Forge FC) and Javier Acuña (Atlético Ottawa) mark the only returnees from the first team of the week. Valour FC’s James Pantemis and Julian Dunn played key roles in the Winnipeg club recording two clean sheets against Ottawa and York9 FC last week, with the latter earning Gatorade Canada Man of the Match honours against The Nine Stripes. Cavalry’s Jordan Brown bagged a brace to sink FC Edmonton, while teammate Nathan Mavila's moment of magic, catching the ‘keeper off his line, put the Cavs on top against HFX Wanderers FC. Robert Boskovic held steady at the back for the Cavs, posting a match-high number pf tackles (three) and interceptions (three) against the Eddies. Pacific FC’s Kadin Chung continued his fantastic run of form in PEI, winning nearly 80 per cent of his duels in games against Forge and York9. Bekker was Forge's hero on Saturday with a last-minute winner over Pacific FC. Bekker recorded five key passes over the week and led Forge in offensive half passes (33) against HFX Wanderers. Javier Acuña’s record-setting brace for Atlético Ottawa netted the former Liga MX player to his second team of the week selection. His first of two goals against FC Edmonton was the fastest scored in CPL history, clocking in at 22 seconds. Hanson Boakai is the first Edmonton player to appear on the team of the week after a brilliant substitute appearance against Ottawa. The Edmonton native completed 24 passes in a half hour and set up Keven Alemán opening goal in the 88th minute. HFX Wanderers attacker Akeem Garcia earns his spot after two goals – one against Forge and a penalty against Cavalry. His teammate Abou Sissoko had two breakout games, bossing the Wanderers midfield and impressing against both Cavalry and Forge. All Gatorade Team of the Week selections are chosen by OneSoccer.
