Forge FC will play their home half of their upcoming 2021 Concacaf League Round of 16 tilt at Tim Hortons Field after playing the opening round and the entire 2020 continental campaign on the road due to COVID-19 restrictions. The two-time CPL champions will host Panamanian side Club Atlético Independiente in the Round of 16 on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 8:00 pm ET before taking the return leg in Panamá Oeste Province, Panama at Estadio Agustín Muquita Sánchez on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 6:00pm ET. Several Forge CPL regular season matches have been moved to accommodate Forge's continental campaign and their upcoming match against Valour FC in the 2021 Canadian Championship quarterfinal, which has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Forge's return to Hamilton in continental competition comes after the side beat El Salvadorian side CD FAS in the preliminary round 5-3 over two legs – both of which were played at Estadio Cuscatlán, San Salvador. Bobby Smyrniotis' side played the entire 2020 Concacaf League campaign in Central America, eventually being dispatched by Honduran side Marathon in a play-in match for 2021 Concacaf Champions League qualification.
