Forge FC attacker and former CPL Player of the Year Tristan Borges has been named CanPL.ca's Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 5 to Nov. 12. The 23-year-old receives the honours after a dominating performance against York United where he led the Hamilton side in shots (four), duels (16), and key passes (4) in a 3-1 win. He also scored, of course, one of the most impressive free-kicks you'll see in CPL play (seen below), thumping a left-footed attempt from way out, beating Niko Giantsopoulos as it kissed the crossbar. Borges, on loan from Belgian side OH Leuven, scored his fourth goal on the season which, paired with seven assists, is a solid return to Canadian soccer after his move to Europe in early 2020. Other winners of CanPL.ca’s Player of the Week honours include Borges' Forge FC teammates Kyle Bekker and Kwame Awuah, Cavalry FC’s Daan Klomp and David Norman Jr., Valour FC’s Jonathan Sirois, Moses Dyer, and Andrew Jean-Baptiste, Ottawa’s Alberto Soto, FC Edmonton’s Easton Ongaro, and Pacific FC's Marco Bustos.
