Forge's goalkeeper Triston Henry spoke highly of his skipper after Thursday's win: "He's everything to this team," Henry said. "He's the heart and soul, the heartbeat." Bekker is the second CPLer to claim this honour in 2021, following Valour FC defender Andrew Jean-Baptiste who was named Player of the Week last Friday after leading Valour to a pair of wins to start the season.
