FC Edmonton has signed forward Kairo Coore to a CPL-U SPORTS contract for the 2022 Canadian Premier League season. Coore was selected in the first round (second overall) in the 2022 CPL-U SPORTS Draft in January. The 20-year-old player finished his first season with Cape Breton University in 2021, where he scored 15 goals and one assist in 12 games with the Capers. Prior to joining Cape Breton, Coore played two seasons with the NCAA’s Saginaw Valley State. “We are incredibly excited to welcome Kairo to our club. We have enjoyed working with him so far and look forward to seeing how he performs once the season starts,” said Eddies head coach Alan Koch. “He is a strong and athletic young player with mass upside. We will push him to be successful in his first foray in the professional game.” FC Edmonton will kick the season off at home on Sunday Apr.10 against Valour FC at 2 p.m. MT at Clarke Stadium.
