Welcome to CPL50, a series where we’ll reveal the top 50 players from the 2021 Canadian Premier League regular season, as voted on by a panel of coaches from all eight teams and media from OneSoccer and CanPL.ca. For more information on the voting process and method, click here.

Cavalry FC’s third-year number 10 was as potent as ever with Tommy Wheeldon Jr.'s Cavalry side in 2021. The 27-year-old racked up an impressive four goals and three assists across 22 appearances – some of which were limited due to fitness and injury concerns. Still, when fit, there was no player quite as dangerous sitting in a pocket or moving across a defender like Camargo. This goal against Pacific FC from this Summer was a particular highlight. Camargo showed a significant amount of versatility, too, playing up the left, as a midfielder, and as a second striker, usually in tandem with the mighty striker Joe Mason. The former Toronto FC attacker, who was one of Cavalry’s first-ever signings, again proved crucial to Wheeldon Jr.’s high energy style, winning the ball 20 times in the attacking third – which landed him third among all CPLers. A worthy member of the CPL50 and the second Cavs player to crack the list, joining goalkeeper Marco Carducci at no. 39.

The rest of the CPL50 countdown is available here. Five more players will be revealed per day until December 22.
