Welcome to CPL50, a series where we’ll reveal the top 50 players from the 2021 Canadian Premier League regular season, as voted on by a panel of coaches from all eight teams and media from OneSoccer and CanPL.ca. For more information on the voting process and method, click here.

The sixth Pacific FC player thus far in the CPL50, and coming in at number 22, is Pacific FC's number 2, right back Kadin Chung. The 23-year-old, who grew up in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, was Pacific's first-ever signing ahead of the inaugural 2019 season, and has been one of their most important players for three years now, helping them lift the North Star Shield in 2021. He finished second in the league in interceptions with 53, and was in the top five players for minutes played. He was on the pitch for 2,279 minutes across 26 regular season matches in 2021. He also contributed a goal and an assist, the goal a long range effort against FC Edmonton where he cut in from the left and fired the ball into the back of the net. One of the best right backs in the league, at times Chung was asked to play left back this season as well. He only did so on a handful of occasions, but he looked sharp there as well, proving his versatility. When Pacific's star attacker Marco Bustos was firing on all cylinders earlier in the season, the right sided duo of him and Chung was nearly unstoppable. They were always on the same page as one another, and at times knew where each other were on the pitch without even having to look. Chung is one of the best fullbacks in the league at making overlapping runs, and that duo brought the best out of each other. He has been capped at several levels of the Canadian youth national teams, but he's yet to be called up into the senior side.

The rest of the CPL50 countdown is available here. Five more players will be revealed per day until December 22.
