One of FC Edmonton, Forge FC, and Valour FC will be taking on Antigua Guatemala Football Club in the preliminary round of the CONCACAF League, kicking off in July. CONCACAF officials held a draw for the 2019 CONCACAF League on Thursday evening from Guatemala City, Guatemala, where one yet-undetermined CPL outfit will now take on a club from Guatemala. Should one of Forge, Edmonton or Valour defeat Antigua GFC in the preliminary round, they would then move on to take on Honduran outfit CD Olimpia in the Round of 16. CPL's spot, known as "Canada 2," is one of the 12 teams in the preliminary round. Canada 2 was drawn from Pot 2, which would be matched up against a side in Pot 1. Furthermore, Pots 3 and 4 will contain the ten clubs who have already qualified for the round of 16 and the six winners of the six preliminary round matchups. Six teams from the CONCACAF League will qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League.
